As a part of our themed accommodation services, Scruffy Dog Creative Group have had the chance to work alongside Merlin Making Magic in designing the Legoland Castle hotel in Legoland Windsor, featuring hotel rooms, restaurants, exterior theming, lobby design and more. We played our part in providing a turnkey solution and helped to cover all aspects of the design process from conceptualisation to installation and are proud to have played our part in realising such a fantastic themed accommodation attraction.
One of our most recent projects pertaining to themed accommodation, Scruffy Dog Creative Group was approached to design the GCUK Graduate Hotel in Cambridge.
The project was handled by our Creative Production division and involved re purposing old boats to create exciting themed units as well as the creation of a large scale ‘atomic’ art piece to theme the lobby of this fantastic hotel.
Utilising hundreds of hand-crafted atoms of varied colour in its construction, the suspended art piece also makes use of lengths of metalwork to create a highly-complex DNA helix.
Having designed several other attractions within Thorpe Park, our creative construction design team were commissioned to overlook the creative construction design of a brand-new themed accommodation attraction.
Upon completion, Shark Cabins – the hotel located on-site at Thorpe Park – was constructed from repurposed shipping containers. In addition to the design services for the hotel itself we were commissioned to create a highly aesthetic entranceway into the hotel.
This giant metal predator’s head marks the entrance to the hotel and guests walk through its gaping jaws to reach their themed accommodation at the end of the walkway.
This structure was constructed at Thorpe Park in 2014 by Scruffy Dog Creative Group. Crafted from scrap metal and lost park memorabilia, the beast spans over 15m in length and stands over 7m high.
