We at Scruffy Dog Creative Group are delighted to share that Wonder Garden, a standout feature of 2023’s Riyadh Season, has been awarded “Best Design for a Leisure & Entertainment Facility 2024” at the MENALAC Awards. We worked closely with Sela on this amazing project, contributing our services and creativity. We’re thrilled it has received the recognition it deserves. This award, won for this immersive experience, recognises the thoughtful and engaging design that defined this spectacular, entirely one-of-a-kind themed amusement park.
Wonder Garden was a key attraction during last year’s Riyadh Season, a winter festival that ran from October 2023 to March 2024. It was a real statement of what’s possible in contemporary, themed entertainment design, creating a vibrant and engaging space for visitors. The park was organised into themed zones, each with its own distinctive character, ambience, and attractions, offering visitors a feast for the eyes (and stomach!) with surprises around every corner. From thrilling rides to interactive games and multimedia experiences, the park was designed to cater to a wide range of interests and ages without watering down the creative intent.
The client had a clear vision from the start and set out to create a flora-inspired wonderland that celebrated nature in all its glory. The project’s success lay in its ability to offer a truly immersive experience, blending entertainment with a visually captivating environment inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
Our role was focused on developing the client vision and developing the creative, producing the concept masterplan and the technical development. We undertook this role in close partnership with the Sela team and contributed to bringing this vision to life. The collaborative effort underscored our shared commitment to excellence and innovation in leisure and entertainment spaces.
